The current commission appointed to review Lee County's charter must
finish its work by May of 2016. The commission has held public forums in
all five County Commission districts, and has several more meetings
scheduled downtown Ft. Myers. Possible changes being considered for
placement on the November 2016 ballot include: Single-member commission
districts, non-partisan county constitutional races, change to charter
review commission rules, creation of ethics panel, and the creation of a
public audit commission.
The Libertarian Party of Lee County strongly supports single-member county commission districts and non-partisan elections for county constitutional offices.
